Maya's First Birthday Party

Happy first birthday Maya! The daughter of our dear friends Danielle and Gerard, Maya is a beautiful, happy little lady. We traveled to their home on Long Island for a small party, and Danielle asked me to make the cakes and favors. Of course I would!
One of Maya's gifts from us was this happy birthday banner. I picked out the fabric to coordinate with her party and her room, and sewed it all together. Much easier than I was expecting. I will likely make more. I also made one to say "Maya" with owl fabric that is now hanging over her crib.
Danielle designed these beautiful invitations, and all of the colors and of course the cake, were designed around these colors and graphics.
The owl cake. Vanilla cake with buttercream frosting.
A personalized owl cake for Maya - she seemed to enjoy it!
The dessert spread: vanilla owl cakes, chocolate cupcakes with swiss meringue buttercream frosting, number "1" sugar cookies with royal icing, and the beautiful basket of cookie lollipops was made by Gerard's sister - yum!
I also made lots of favors - sugar cookies with royal icing that spelled "MAYA".
I think someone had too much cake! :)
